1. Length of Study: 1 to 4 years (2 semesters to 8 semesters)
2. Prescribed Credits for Master Degree: 24 credits. Each semester, you can take a maximum of 12 credits.
3. A maximum of 4 credits from courses taken in this institute’s master’s and doctoral programs or other departments’ (limited to in-service master’s programs) courses can be recognized as graduation credits. Each semester, students are limited to taking one course from other departments or different academic system (Applicable to students enrolled starting from 2025).
4. Students should finish 18 credits in total (current semester credits & transference are not included) before attend the qualification exam.
5. The thesis proposal should be published public & being approved by 3 committee members, after you passed the proposal then you may proceed to thesis oral defense next semester.
6. If your first qualification exam is not passed, you should pass the exam at the semester you apply your oral defense.
7. Semester during the oral defense, the credits should be limited within 1 course.
8. The suggestion of oral defense committee members should be arranged by advisor & same member should be limited to 2 oral defense sessions.
9. Students should be attending 2 domestic/international conference per semester (6 in total before graduation) or published 1 thesis in journal. 10. Students before graduate should published 1 thesis at domestic/international academic conference or published at journals, otherwise students should participating Graduate Thesis conference which is hold by GIIASS.

11. Students should finish all online courses of Center for Taiwan Academic Research Ethics Education & pass “Academic ethics test” online before Apply for oral defense.
12. Thesis Procedures:
Find an advisor -> Pass the qualification exam -> Deliver the proposal of thesis -> Apply and schedule of the final oral defense of thesis -> Pass the final oral defense of thesis
(1)In the 3rd semester, students have to find an advisor to consul your thesis, deliver the proposal of thesis and pass the qualification exam.
(2)In the end of the 3rd semester, students should have acquired 24 credits.
(3)In the 4th semester, students have to apply and schedule the oral defense for your thesis.
(4)The oral defense will be held in June or January.
13. For those who take the Chinese language courses (which will be excluded into total credits), please DO attend those classes, otherwise “Taiwan scholarship applicants” will be affected.
